Jourdan Dunn woke up like this

When I think about Jourdan Dunn that Hammer track ‘Have you seen her’ comes to mind.  I imagine her emerging from a smoke filled room looking like the cross between a Victorias Secret Angel and a huntress .  Either way, you need to stop doing whatever it is you’re doing and stare at her.

The 23 year old model started modelling at 16, after being scouted while out shopping with friends.  She wasn’t a fan of her model features and having a Carribean background made it quite difficult for Jourdan to accept her non-curvaceous figure.  But thats all paying off now isn’t it Jourdan? 😉

She has recently been added to the roster of elite models behind the Maybelline Cosmetics company.  As a model of colour, she recognizes the industry’s lack of understanding of the different shades of dark skin and the need for makeup artists to be more educated.  When backstage she often finds herself grappling with shades that don’t fit.  She cites Bobbi Brown and YSL as her go to brands.

I for one am ECSTATIC to see a Black woman added to this brand which clearly was in need of some diversity!  Cosmetics companies need to recognize that we look good beautiful in makeup too dammit!  Hello Lupita!! 🙂

If you pick up a few magazines you’ll find a picture of Jourdan in at least one of them!  I recently saw her in an Express flyer that came in the mail!  The girl is busy, busy, busy.  Oh did I mention she was one of three models in Bey’s ‘Flawless’ video?

The beautiful Brit is also a philanthropist who is championing the cause as the Parent Ambassador for the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, an illness that her son suffers from.

When not on the runway, Jourdan also hosts a cooking show called ‘Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn’.

Now who said models had no substance? Bravo Jourdan!
