The unstoppable Jeneil Williams

jeneil3If you’ve been living under a rock and have not seen the pics of Julia Noni’s stunning shots of Jeneil Williams in Germany’s Vogue you’re in for a treat.

This.Is.What.You.Call.A.Model

The 28 year old Jamaican beauty was born and raised in Kingston Jamaica.  The former track and field athlete set her sights on modelling and after winning the Carribean Model Search she signed with New York Models in 2006.  This led to a campaign with United Colours of Benetton, which received attention from the grand puba, Anna Wintour.  However, her big break came in 2008 as a result of her newcomer feature in an all-black issue for Italian Vogue courtesy of Franca Sozzani.  I have to say, I absolutely respect how much love black models get in Europe, it’s so refreshing!

Jeneil’s recognition has made her a favourite of designers such as L’wren Scott, Louis Vuitton, Narciso Rodriguez and Lanvin, to name but a few.  She is one of the most recognizable and arguably successful models from the Carribean and there’s no stopping this girl!

When I think of a black model I think about the manner in which Noni captured Jeneil in these shots.  Everything about the shoot was pefect from the natural setting to the vibrant colours that propel her beauty to an infinite scale.  Absolutely breathtaking. Bravo Jeneil!
